Here at Custom Sound and Image we are an aftermarket electronics accessories store in Ankeny, IA. We have been in business for over 15+ years and believe in providing exceptional customer service at competitive prices.

We offer professional installation by our master technicians for remote car starters, audio and video upgrades, backup cameras and so much more!

Our staff has worked in the industry for 25+ years. The business was started with a love of electronics as a hobby that quickly turned into a passion. We believe that when you love doing something it shows in the work you put into it. We treat every vehicle as if it were our own.

Talked with the owner for awhile he explained everything that I needed to no very nice guy. I bought some CICADA speakers for my Harley and let me tell ya they are unrealistic. We went in a few weeks ago for a dashcam install. We didn't purchase the product through them so he was very honest upfront about not knowing anything about the exact brand. However he was very informative and still gave us guidance on how to get it all hooked up thru WiFi etc when we got home. Unfortunately we weren't able to set it up do to the extreme cold weather and then my husband tore an ACL he had surgery so that pushed the setup back. Looong story short , husband called explained the issue. Owner said no problem come out anytime . We had time today they pulled it right in and had the issue fixed almost immediately. No fault of anyone's... well... maybe some roads .. ha! We've hit some serious pot holes that could have loosened a wire for sure. Needless to say we are very thankful and appreciative for the service we received! Highly recommend this company!!

Aaron is a great dude. Honest and upfront. Very knowledgeable, he’s been helping me through a mess I got myself into, thinking I could pop a new radio in my truck like I did in high school . I was wrong. He didn’t have to get involved with my diy setup. Lesson learned. He s got a new customer for life! I’d recommend him for car, truck., boat, utility vehicles and motorcycles too!! Do I need an appointment, or can I stop in?
You're welcome to stop in anytime during business hours- no appointment necessary. Please note Friday afternoons tend to be our busiest time, but you're still more than welcome to stop by.
Can you give me a quote over the phone or online?
We can give general pricing ranges over the phone (usually), but for the most accurate quote we recommend stopping into the shop. Every vehicle and setup is a little different, and seeing it in person allows us to recommend the best solution to avoid surprises.
Do you offer financing?
Yes! We do offer financing options. Please visit the financing tab on our website for more details and to explore available plans.
What brands do you carry and recommend?
We carry a wide range of trusted high-quality brands including Alpine, Sony, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, Wet Sounds, Cicada, and more. Our team will help match the right products to your vehicle, budget, and goals to ensure you get the best performance and value.
How far out are you booked for installations?
Our schedule can vary depending on the time of year and the type of installation. Some projects take more time, while others can be worked into our existing schedule sooner. We commend giving us a call or stopping in so we can go over your specific setup and find the soonest availability that works for you.
Do you work on boats, motorcycles, side-by-sides, and other vehicles?
Yes! In addition to cars, trucks and SUVs, we also work on motorcycles, boats, jet skis, side-by-sides, motorhomes, and even semi-trucks. If you're not sure if we can work on your vehicle, feel free to stop in or give us a call and we'll be happy to take a look.

Every vehicle is a little different, so we recommend stopping in so we can go over your options and find the best solution for your set up.
Can I drop off my vehicle off outside of business hours?
Yes, we offer a secure drop box located right outside our front door for after-hours drop-offs. This allows you to leave your vehicle at a time that's convenient for you. Stop in or give us a call ahead of time and we'll go over the simple drop-off process with you.
